How to Apply

Step I
If you are planning to apply for any type of financial aid please submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You must file this form to determine eligibility for Federal Pell Grants, Federal Family education loans (including Subsidized and Unsubsidized federal Stafford Loans), and LICH Nursing Scholarships.

To apply for financial aid, please complete a FAFSA online at: www.fafsa.ed.gov
The Federal Grant Code is: 014321

The deadline to file FAFSA is May 15, 2008 or three weeks after you are accepted to the program, whichever is later. Students who submit aid applications after the deadline jeopardize their chances of receiving financial assistance.

Step II

The FAFSA form is also used to apply for TAP and APTS grants. To apply you must link to HESC supplement page from signature page on the FAFSA electronic application.

TAP code is 0389
Step III

You may be asked to submit verification documents required for Title IV program eligibility to the Financial Aid Office. Sample verification documents may include: copy of student and spouse’s Federal Income Tax Return (1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ) and/or signed copy of parent’s Federal Income Tax Return from the previous year. Other items to be verified may include: citizenship status, selective service status, number of household family members, and number of family members attending post-secondary educational institutions, and certain untaxed income and benefits for the base year.

After the School has received all required forms and applicable documentation, students will receive an award letter itemizing the financial aid for which they are eligible.
